This Privacy Policy explains how Knongdai (“Knongdai,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the TOPIK - 한국어능력시험 mobile app for Android and iOS. TOPIK - 한국어능력시험 is free to download and is supported by advertising.

Information stored on your device

Your study activity is kept in the app’s private, encrypted storage on your device so the app works offline. Depending on how you use it, this may include exam progress and results, answers you write, bookmarks and notes, downloaded practice content, and your settings (appearance, language, notification and consent choices).

Information you provide

  • Purchase status: your subscription and lifetime-unlock entitlements. Payment card and bank details are handled by Google Play or the App Store and are never received by us.

Information collected automatically

When you use the app, our service providers (below) automatically collect technical information such as device model, operating system and app version, language and approximate region (from your IP address), a mobile advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, Apple IDFA, or App Set ID), app events and interactions, crash reports, and performance data.

Advertising and consent

TOPIK - 한국어능력시험 shows ads through the AppLovin MAX advertising SDK, which mediates demand from partner ad networks including Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, and Mintegral. These partners may collect the technical and advertising data described above to serve and measure ads, limit repetition, and detect fraud.

Before ads load in regions where it is required, the app shows a consent request through Google’s User Messaging Platform, and on iOS it also asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you do not allow personalized ads or tracking, you will still see non-personalized or contextual ads. Ads are turned off once you have an active premium purchase. You can revisit your choices any time from the app’s privacy settings.

Analytics and diagnostics

We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging) to understand aggregate usage, diagnose crashes and performance issues, configure features remotely, and send notifications you have enabled. See the Firebase privacy documentation.

In-app purchases

TOPIK - 한국어능력시험 offers optional purchases — auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime unlock. All payments are processed by Google Play Billing or the Apple App Store. We receive a purchase token; we do not receive your card or bank details. Purchase receipts are validated with the store. You can view, manage, or cancel subscriptions, and request refunds, in your Google Play or App Store account.

How information is shared

We share information only as described here:

  • Service providers that operate parts of the app on our behalf — Google and Firebase, the advertising partners named above, and our hosting providers.
  • Legal and safety — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect users, the public, or our rights.
  • Business transfers — if the app or Knongdai is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, information may transfer subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. Advertising and analytics partners may act as independent controllers and may process data in other countries under their own safeguards.

Retention and security

Data stored on your device stays until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. Advertising partners set their own retention periods — AppLovin, for example, states it generally keeps advertising data for up to about two years.

On-device data is stored in an encrypted database, and network traffic uses TLS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

  • Reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device’s privacy settings.
  • Revisit ad consent from Manage privacy choices in the app’s settings.
  • Turn notifications off in the app or your device settings.
  • Request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your account data, or withdraw consent, by emailing us. See the data deletion instructions.

Children’s privacy

TOPIK - 한국어능력시험 is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app and its service providers change. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
